Privacy policy
Porch & Plot is operated by Worth a Shot, LLC ("we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name or address. Three things happen automatically when you visit:
- Traffic measurement. We record page views, the page you came from, the country your request came from, and how long a page was open. We do not store your IP address and we do not build a profile of you across visits.
- Campaign labels. If you reached us from an advertisement, the link carries labels identifying that advertisement, including an identifier assigned to your click by the advertising platform. We store those labels so we can tell which advertisements bring readers here. They are kept for the duration of your visit in your browser's session storage, which your browser clears when you close the tab. We do not use them to identify you and we do not combine them with anything else about you.
- Advertising. The advertisements on this site are served by third parties, described below.
We do not set cookies of our own. Advertising vendors may set their own — see below.
Advertising and cookies
This site does not currently show advertising. No ad tags are loaded, no advertising cookies are set, and no advertising vendor receives anything about your visit. What follows describes what will apply if that changes; this paragraph will be removed when it does.
We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads. These companies may use cookies and similar technologies to measure how many people saw an ad, to limit how often you see the same one, and — depending on your consent and your location — to show ads related to your interests.
Google is one of these vendors. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can review and change your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of personalised advertising from many vendors at optout.aboutads.info or youradchoices.com.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland
This site is intended for readers in the United States and we do not operate a consent notice. Because we cannot ask for your consent, we do not serve advertising to visitors in these countries at all: no ad is requested and no advertising cookie is set. You will still see the articles.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data relating to you, and to complain to your national supervisory authority. Requests go to the address below.
If you are a California resident
We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising technologies may nevertheless qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA as amended.
We honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we instruct our advertising vendors to restrict processing of your data and to serve only non-personalised advertising, automatically and without your needing to contact us. You may also write to us at the address below.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
